
This unique partnership has led to the formation of AIM’s IGNITE Center: Implementing Global Neuroscience Initiatives in Training and Education. These approaches have the potential to make a significant impact on several long-standing social challenges. The mission of the hub is to improve language and literacy outcomes for at-risk children, across languages and cultures.

The GL2 Innovation Hub is an international and interdisciplinary collaborative that brings together an unprecedented partnership of expert researchers, practitioners, educators and education technology specialists from around the globe to solve many critical issues. In March 2018, AIM Academy and the AIM Institute for Learning & Research became the first school-age educational member of the Haskins Laboratories Global L2 (Language & Literacy) Innovation Hub. How do we generate interest in neuroscience, research and related fields for future generations while simultaneously exploring how students learn and respond to instruction using cutting-edge technology? Over the past 7 years, she developed an interest in incorporating technology, such as 3D printing and laser cutting, into the art room and collaborating with other teachers on project based learning. Jessica Killo has been teaching at Germantown Academy for 17 years, mostly in art education. If you chose this session, be prepared with a sketchbook or notebook and something with which to write or draw. Participants will share their ideas through quick sketches and a brief 30 second pitch. In this interactive session, participants are randomly assigned two everyday items (for example: a sneaker and scissors) and must combine them to create something new and useful. It is an energetic and impactful ice breaker for teachers and students.or anyone! The term "Smart Recombinations" was coined by author and British designer John Thackara. Smart Recombinations is a quick and fun exercise meant to boost creative thinking and the process of innovation.
